God, Would you please tell me what you want to do?

The first Healing Course ran during July and August, 2026. One super encouraging aspect of the course was listening to testimonies from the course participants. Christine shared the following story that occurred earlier this year…

In January 2026, we received a text from our business partner’s son, letting us know that his brother-in-law had just been found without a heartbeat in his home. His wife had gone to have a shower after putting their four children to bed, and returned to find him purple and not breathing. The paramedics tried to resuscitate him and got his heart beating but were unable to get him breathing on his own. They put him on a ventilator. We all began to pray fervently that God would restore this young man to his wife and family, and heal his body and his brain.

After a few days of worsening news, the doctor called the family together and told them that the prognosis was very bad. There was no activity in the brain, and he was not responding to any treatment. He told the family that the next morning they would be meeting to make some serious decisions. We imagined that meant that they were planning to take him off the ventilator.

When I heard this, I sat down with my Bible to pray again. I asked God if He would please tell me what He wanted to do. We all wanted Mark to live, but we didn’t want him to suffer or struggle with brain injuries for the rest of his life either.

I prayed, “God what do you want in this situation? What is your will for Mark?”

I sensed the Lord speaking clearly and decisively to my heart: “I want life for Mark! Abundant life, wholeness and completeness!”

Two verses came immediately into my mind.

”If the same Spirit that raised Christ from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ Jesus from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through his Spirit who dwells in you.” (Romans 8:11)

I think it is generally understood that this verse means that He will quicken our mortal bodies when He returns, but the verse was so clear in my mind that I began to pray that God would, by the power of the Holy Spirit that dwelt in Mark, because he was a believer, quicken and restore his mortal body now.

Since the Bible also says in Ephesians 1 that we should know “the hope to which He has called us…and His incomparably great power for us who believe” and “that power is the same as the mighty strength God exerted when He raised Christ from the dead and seated Him at His right hand in the heavenly realms,” I was praying that this power would flow through Mark’s body and brain that day!

So I prayed that God would quicken Mark’s mortal body; that the power of the Holy Spirit would flow through him and bring to life all the things that had died or were dying. I prayed that the loving Creator who had created Mark perfectly at birth, would recreate his body and his mind and every cell exactly as perfectly as He had done it before. I spoke blessing over him. I prayed wholeness over his brain and his body. I prayed for life, God’s perfect life over him and into him and around him and through him. Then I thanked God that he was all powerful and good and for what He would do.

I sensed that God would restore him completely, but I didn’t know if that was just me hoping or me being encouraged by the positive prayers that I was praying. I prayed a while longer and then said “Amen.”

A couple of hours later my husband came into the room and said, “Look at the text we just got! Mark started responding this afternoon! The nurse asked him his name and he clearly said ‘Mark!’ He is also responding to commands! Isn’t this amazing?”

I believe that God allowed these events to occur in the timing they did to encourage my faith and the faith of countless others who were praying!

As you will hear on the video below, Mark made a complete recovery, and his family stated that “they got the whole, original Mark back.” What a beautiful great, merciful God we serve!
